A decline comes from a funder, not from Capvant, and funders are not obliged to publish their reasoning. Where a funder shares a reason we pass it on. Where they do not, we cannot invent one.
In practice, declines cluster around a small number of causes:
- Trading time below the funder’s minimum.
- Revenue below the level the product is built for, or too volatile month to month.
- Existing borrowing already at the level the funder is comfortable with.
- Sector appetite, which tightens and loosens over time and is not personal.
- Details that could not be verified against the documents supplied.
The last one is the most fixable and the most common. Figures given from memory that do not match bank statements will stop an otherwise good request. Accuracy at the start is worth more than optimism.
