Not every request produces an offer. Being matched means your details went to funders whose criteria you plausibly fit, not that any of them will quote. We would rather say that plainly than imply otherwise.
The usual reasons:
- Trading history is shorter than the funders you matched with normally work with.
- Turnover is below the level the product is built around.
- The amount requested is out of proportion to current revenue.
- The sector or structure sits outside a funder’s current appetite, which changes over time.
What tends to be worth doing:
- Ask for an amount that fits your current revenue rather than your plans.
- Come back once you have a few more months of trading behind you. Appetite moves, and so does your file.
- Check whether a different shape of funding fits better, for example an invoice facility rather than a term loan.
A no today is a no from the funders that saw this request, on these details, at this moment. It is not a verdict on your business.
