Headline rate is the least reliable way to compare business funding, because the same rate can mean very different things across products.
Compare these four, in this order:
- Total cost. Everything you repay above the amount advanced, over the full term. This is the only number that survives a change of product type.
- Repayment shape. Daily, weekly and monthly repayments hit cash flow very differently even at identical total cost.
- Term and flexibility. Whether early settlement saves you money or costs you a fee.
- Fees and conditions. Arrangement fees, drawdown fees, security, guarantees, covenants.
Capvant shows rate, term and total cost side by side for exactly this reason. If something in a funder’s offer is unclear, ask them before accepting. Cheapest on paper and best for your business are not always the same offer, and the right choice is yours to make.
